soal basi sih, tapi masi bikin gemes
awalnya saya pikir ini adalah topik yang basi. soal kesetaraan gender. soal perempuan yang harus bisa sejajar dengan laki-laki. tapi, di sini, di bantul, tempat saya kkn, saya tahu bahwa soal kesetaraan gender adalah BUKAN topik yang basi. gemes banget rasanya melihat bagaimana perempuan berinteraksi dengan laki-laki di setiap pertemuan. tak ada perempuan yang bisa jadi ketua, tak ada perempuan yang berani berpendapat, apalagi berdebat, mendebat pendapat pria di sebuah forum. uh... kartini itu dari jawa kan? di setiap rapat, gadis-gadis ini cuma bisa saling berbisik, ngobrol sendiri. kalaupun punya pendapat, mereka lebih suka tertawa-tawa sendiri. atau bahkan mereka tidak pernah punya pendapat sendiri. belum pernah saya lihat perempuan yang punya pendapat sendiri dalam setiap forum. hanya saya dan beberapa teman mahasiswa lain yang berani berbicara. perempuan lain? malu, takut, tak etis, atau apalah alasannya sehingga mereka tidak berani berpendapat di muka umum. masyarakat... Saturday Nights Alright for Fighting
6Sept08 Another wild Saturday Night in Djibouti! Yes, that was sarcasm. Not much happening lately, been out to a few villages to look at projects and discuss future possibilities, but other than that it has been slow. The NFL has started and still no way of watching the games. I checked on buying the Online Pay Per Views, but our network out here will not support it. I actually bought the College Package only to find that out the hard way. Luckily they refunded my money. Ramadan has started here as with all Muslim Nations and or Communities. It’s the Festival of Lights! Just kidding, it’s a Muslim Holiday, where they fast during the day light hours. Not drinking, eating, no tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or sex, but at sun down, you can do all the above except the sex I think. Probably depends on the type of Muslim or the Individual. The Islamic Folks here are not as hard core and radical as some Middle Eastern Countries, but there are a few out there. The Holiday lasts for twenty-nine... (more)

Goin Nowhere Fast
Yeah, despite the fact that under the hood of my car lies a 'Power Intake', eh the box say wan ok? The novelty of feeling that bit more power wears out kinda fast.... and while the sound is really rorty now, I'd still prefer to listen to Dave Koz (he's AWESOME MAN!!!!) on the stereo. Thing is, flexing the throttle will burn multiple holes in my wallet (Brian and Daniel: UOB Only!!!), turning up the volume is absolutely free:) So now, I just sit back, crank it up... and drive slowly so as to listen to as many jazz songs as I can.... I've always loved jazz music but somehow never knew where to get good ones (Kenny G doesn't count).... so thanks Brian haha:D Oh yes on another note, ppl have this misconception that I'm a dangerous/fast driver..... so I'd wanna say this again.... SPEED DOES NOT KILL, STUPIDITY DOES.... If speed killed, many on the Autobahn are already dead. It's one thing driving fast, it's another driving fast AND recklessly. Ppl must know their cars' limits and not go... (more)
